Implementation of Night Worker on all People Outdoors Camps
Hello Campers, Carers, Parent and Support Coordinators,
The Australian Camps Association is continually reviewing our policies, procedures and practices as part of our continuous improvement strategies. We have identified an opportunity to improve the level of care to all campers attending our People Outdoors camps by adding an extra Active Night Disability Support Worker for all camps. This night worker will be available to support any camper that is awake overnight, whilst our day staff are sleeping. This provides all campers with 24-hours active care.
Our current system of using door alarms, may cause fatigue to our support workers' day performance, if they are woken multiple times through the night. In order to lower the potential impact of fatigue, the night worker will provide additional support. We believe this is a valuable addition to our program.
The total cost of the Night Worker will be distributed amongst all campers per camp. This will cover a support worker for each night at camp. For this to be viable, we will be billing one extra hour of support from each camper per night, to cover the cost of the Night Worker.
This cost will be added to the 01_015_0107_1_1_T - Assistance with self-care activities per weekday evening Line Item.
The extra support hour/s will be added to your invoice and service agreements moving forward effective 15/05/2024.
Thank you for your ongoing support.
