Resumption of People Outdoors Camps

Dear People Outdoors Campers, Families and Carers,

Like you, we are really looking forward to getting out of the house and back to camp!

We've been working hard in the past few months to ensure that everyone's health and safety will continue to be People Outdoors number one concern, especially in regards to COVID-19.

We've developed a COVIDSafe Plan and now feel happy to re-introduce the camps program in line with current government advice.

What will we be doing?

Before the program, we will be asking that anyone who is in any way unwell not attend the camp (this includes our staff and campers).

The host site will be responsible for maintaining a hygienic environment, but staff and campers remain responsible for their own personal hygiene (with help as required).

All People Outdoors staff will undertake COVID-19 infection control training and other relevant training activities.

At least for the foreseeable future, you'll probably see much more personal protective equipment in use - mainly face masks and gloves.

Anyone who becomes unwell whilst on camp must immediately be collected by their parents / carers from camp and see a doctor.

Sleeping and bathroom arrangements will be managed to ensure everyone has adequate space and access to clean facilities.

Transport to and from camp will be managed to ensure sufficient space and ventilation whilst on the road.

We know that with a bit of common sense and effort, our camps can continue to offer a fantastic outdoor experience and our campers will continue to be very well looked after.

Our upcoming programs can now be found online along with our latest newsletter.

If you have any questions or concerns, or if you’d like to attend camp again (or for the first time) please contact us at the People Outdoors office on 03 9863 6824 or via email.
