Welcome to the team Alex!

People Outdoors welcomed Alex Morcom to the team in early October. Jumping into the deep end as we re-booted for the remainder of 2020, Alex has been working closely with Andrew, Oliva and Mel to help us to provide more camps moving forward.

Let's learn a little more about Alex:img: alexonhighropescourse

"I grew up in regional Victoria where sport and the outdoors played an important part in our community and kept my family busy throughout the week and on weekends. As a result of this, I have always been passionate about sport and outdoor recreation, getting involved in anything and everything I could.

I believe spending time being active and outdoors, is not only important for a person’s physical health but can also be greatly beneficial socially and mentally. Other hobbies of mine include listening to music and cooking for family and friends.

I recently finished a Bachelor’s degree in Sport Management and Marketing where I was fortunate to complete my university placement with the Bali Sports Foundation, working with athletes with a disability. Before starting at university, I spent four months working as a Camp Counsellor at an American Summer Camp. I enjoyed spending time with our campers on the rock wall and high ropes course and at our nightly activities.

I am very excited to be joining the team at People Outdoors and look forward to playing a role in the delivery of camps. I can’t wait to get to know all of our campers and help work towards achieving each individual’s goals. In what has been a tricky year for everyone, I think we can all appreciate how important it is to spend time in the outdoors with our friends and family.

I look forward to meeting you all as soon as camps get back underway." - Alex
